Master Bath Before & After

Finished up a bathroom remodel this week.  Here are some before and after shots!
BEFORE
This bathroom was totally gutted.  The only thing we kept was the vanity.   You will see the upgrades we made below.
AFTER
Added legs to the vanity to raise it up, it was way too low before.  New paint and hardware and it's a shining star in this new "Spa Retreat"
BEFORE
Good bye old!
AFTER
Hello New!
We made the shower much bigger and added a niche and bench!  The glass tiles are my favorite!  I love this soft gray tile too!
Marble border and marble vanity top look so sharp together.
BEFORE
AFTER
No more mirrored sliding doors.  A new pocket door was installed and it's really added some style to the new bathroom.  You cannot see through the glass so that is a plus for a closet!  Hide that mess!
Notice those fabulous square sinks!
BEFORE
Goodbye Brass swan faucet!  So sorry to the previous homeowner who probably spent a fortune on it!   The homeowner wanted to keep the stain glass window so we worked around that.

AFTER

Larger floor tile and placing the tile on the diagonal really opened up the room too!
Happy client makes me LOVE my job!

A "Retreat" Before and After Master Bedroom

What a fun master bedroom makeover this was!  This client had just purchased their new king bed and bedding and wanted to incorporate these newly purchased items into the design plan.  I love when I get a challenge like that.  She loves warm and cool colors so my goal was to marry the two and come up with a "retreat" feel in their beautiful master bedroom.
BEFORE
Pretty boring...that's why my client called me!
AFTER
Very fresh and warm at the same time!
BEFORE
AFTER
A fresh new color on the walls and ceiling, new Euro shams, patterened sheets, throw pillows, throw, lamps, rug and wall accessories.
The rug really pulled everything together!
Notice how well the pattern goes with the wall art above the bed. Every room has to have items that tie things together.
This artwork was created by a local artist.  I had her create something that united all the colors together and added some whimsy to the room.
BEFORE
My client said that her kids love to sit in the window to watch tv.
AFTER
We created this seat cushion for them so now they will be comfy!  The roman shades are "blackout" so naps in the middle of the day are possible.  The fabric matches the euro shams on the bed.
We created a little seating area in the corner for them to enjoy too.  A great reading spot.  I added all their family photo's above the couch.  It became a beautiful gallery for them to enjoy!

Sophisticated Dining Room

Completed dining room this week.  The client had the furniture.  We reupholstered the chair seats, painted entire room a soft butter yellow (in draperies) and had the niches done in this beautiful copper metallic finish.  Added draperies and accessories.  The ceiling insert is painted that wonderful chocolate brown in the draperies.

Painting done by Mary Howe.

Classy Living Room Before and After's

It's always fun when a job is complete and your brain can finally relax because your vision has come to life!
Here are some before and after pictures of the living room I just finished.  Later this week, I'll post the dining room and master bedroom pictures.
BEFORE
AFTER
Reupholstered chairs, new drapes (hung so they don't cover the window), rugs, accessories.
I LOVE the copper finish on the mantel!!!  The wall color is a very subtle soft gray.  Looks blue in some of the pictures but it a very beautiful color that makes an incredible backdrop.

Amazing what reupholstering chairs can do!
I'm in love with this rug too.  The client was excited because we "used what she had" for her coffee table.

Beach Therapy

We just returned from a wonderful vacation in Gulf Shores, Alabama.
It was a refreshing week after a really hard few weeks.  We lost my Father-in-law to cancer.  He struggled with a brain tumor for 25 years and it finally took his life after a few weeks of being in and out of the hospital.  We are so glad he is no longer suffering and is home where he will be rewarded for the wonderful life he lived.  He and his wife and 4 sons served as Missionaries in Papua New Guinea for 18 years of their lives.  He has left a legacy and taught us so much about being faithful and steadfast in the tough times.  We love you Far Far!
Getting away with family was perfect timing after his memorial service.
This was my view all week!
Gulf Shores has incredible beaches and the surf was amazing.  Hearing the sounds of the waves crashing into shore was good therapy for my soul.
Time with family is always so rich and rewarding.  I don't take this time for granted.
The girls loved riding the waves!  I did the same and there is something magical about rolling around in a great big wave to shore.  It made me feel like a kid again and put me into vacation mode.
I loved watching relationships grow with cousins.  This did my heart good.
We even got to witness a wedding on the beach which was like watching a fairy tale.
Barefoot, relaxed and ready to start a new life together!
It was a very overcast day and beautifully mysterious!
So Romantic.
I'm feeling refreshed and ready to get back to work.  I've though a lot about what kind of legacy I'm going to leave in this life.  I want to live life to the fullest and live in the moment, enjoying the blessings of family and friends that I'm surrounded with.
I'm working on a project that I'll finish next week.  Decorating a dining room, formal living room, pool room and master bedroom.  It will be a two day install and I can't wait!
I'll post before and after pictures when I'm finished.
Thank you to all of you who have encouraged me over the past few weeks during our loss of Far Far.  I appreciate my blogger friends so much!
