Several months ago, we started working on this project in Colleyville, Texas. My client has lived in this home for a long time and has raised her kids here. However, they are all moving away now and she decided it was time to update it.

I met with a client a few months ago that has a beautiful growing family. They had an existing dining room that was tiny! They needed a bigger one but didn't know how to make that happen.

About 24 years ago, my husband and I purchased our first house. We were young and so in love, just like we are now.

It is always such a joy to me when a client that I've worked with before calls me again!
The husband had a terrible accident a few years back and now has a titanium back. He spent a year in the hospital and they almost lost him several times. They gained a new perspective on life and home and have downsized to a one story home since he cannot go up stairs anymore. This is where I come in! In 2007 , I heard a friend talking about a BLOG she was reading and she went on to explain how much it had taught her about her photography. I was fascinated by the idea of a blog!
What was it and how could it help my design business? I started researching to see if there were any decorating blogs out there and there were about 5. I immediately started following each one and was hooked with the amount of information I could learn and was so inspired!
So on September 19, 2007 I decided that I needed to start my own decorating blog and wrote my first post. I'm not a natural writer but I knew I had a passion for design and soon realized that my blog would become MY VOICE!
I wrote about what inspired me and why, posted photos of behind the scenes remodel projects, talked about trends, holidays, entertaining tips and much more!
My before and after posts have been my most popular posts. My following grew and I so enjoyed the network of designers and bloggers that I met through my blog. Over the years, I have had countless clients that have told me that they have hired me because of reading my blog. They read my posts without me knowing and then hired me because of what they had seen and read. It allowed future clients to see if my style matched theirs and allowed them to see a glimpse into my personality and the way I do business. It has helped TELL MY STORY and has launched my career.
It has allowed my clients and future clients a behind the scenes view of how I come up with my designs and allowed them to see what inspires me and why.
