I met with a client a few months ago that has a beautiful growing family. They had an existing dining room that was tiny! They needed a bigger one but didn't know how to make that happen.
I recommended that they make their family room their dining room. Then, make their tiny dining room a piano room. So that is exactly what we did.

We had an electrician add a chandelier and we got started. The client wanted a family friendly table and they really wanted a combination of upholstered chairs as well as a bench. The wooden bench is a great addition because it allows lots of little kids to sit at the table, making more room for the adults.

We added awesome draperies, a sideboard, gallery wall, table, chairs, bench and a rug. Don't you just love the drum chandelier with the crystals?
The gallery wall is an expression of their design style. Of course, I had to add texture and floating frames to make it look fabulous!
The bonsai trees I added to the vases add such awesome color which works beautifully with the large colorful painting . The vases can be used for anything all year long, flowers, berries, Christmas tree clippings, etc. The blue and white tufted dining chairs were purchased and then upholstered to work for the color scheme of the room. The buffet is nice and narrow and is perfect for the necessary storage a dining room needs.
The painting is beautiful with the adjoining piano room too! Coordinates with the piano room pillows, on purpose of course (see below)

We removed the light fixture and replaced it with a crystal flush mount fixture. This allowed us to place the furniture wherever we wanted without having to center it around a chandelier. I added another bench as well so it could be used when the family is using the space. I love the blue and white pinstripe draperies with the tassels from Pottery Barn. They didn't come in a long enough length so we added a dark navy band to the bottom to make them work and keep within our budget. If you follow me on Instagram, you probably saw the behind the scenes video of us getting those tassels ready.
We decided that 2 wingback chairs would be perfect for this room. I found these Ethan Allen wingbacks (so sturdy and comfy) and had them reupholstered in a navy velvet! We added a vintage round rug with great colors and patterns. The neutral tufted ottoman is perfect for the kids to sit on too.
This rug! See how well everything goes with the adjoining dining room painting?
The entry had to get a makeover as well since it is an open concept space and all the rooms all adjoin.

We had this verse custom made in a wood frame for the client. It's their favorite verse and one of mine too! I just love the baskets underneath for storage or for these plaid pillows in the winter months.
We were happy to get this all done for them, just in time for Thanksgiving and they LOVED it! The reveal was so much fun because all four kids were there as well as another family with their kids. Families doing life together is always a good thing.
I pray you have a wonderful time with family and friends. It can be such a busy time of year and hard to relax and enjoy with all things that need to get done.
